Hotaru Kuchiki
Hotaru's Birthday is December 22. She's a few hundred years old; around Rukia's age, maybe a little younger. Her blood type is AB, so she's a bit cranky when she's just woken up. She is innocent, but tough, and often thought of as 'one of the guys'; a tomboy. She's very friendly, and normally cheerful.
She likes sugar (especially cake), Milk, Disney Movies (Yuzu introduced them to her on one of her visits to the World of the Living), Cats, Bunnies, Chappy the Rabbit, Drawing (though she's not very good at it), and Singing (which she IS good at, she's an alto) and dislikes Gin Ichimaru, Grasshoppers [her greatest fear, nobody really knows why, but she finds them terrifying], and any type of bullying.
She is around 79 lbs. and 5' 1"with icy grey-blue eyes and dark scarlet red hair. Her hair is shorter in the back than in the front. It reaches just below the nape of her neck in the back, and a little below her chin in the front. From the front, it looks similar to Rukia's, but straighter and less rounded. She has pale skin, and is flat-chested and skinny. She wears the basic uniform, though she prefers cargos and a tank top in the world of the living.
In the Rukon district, before Renji even knew Rukia, Hotaru was the one to follow him around all the time. They first met when Hotaru was being teased for looking like a boy, but Renji told off the bullies. She was adopted into the Kuchiki family before Rukia came along. She was adopted because Hisana felt bad for leaving Rukia in the Rukon district, and wanted to help a child in Rukon. They would have adopted Rukia, but they couldn't find her.
Hotaru has vitamin D deficiency anemia, making her easily dizzy in some stressful situations, such as if she gets too hot or hasn't had enough water recently. Consequently, Hanataro is assigned to take care of her when her anemia acts up, and with Hotaru's friendliness, they are good friends. Hotaru is very respectful of her brother, though she tends to act childish and kind of cute around him. She and Rukia get along well, and Hotaru and Renji are best friends, knowing each other since they were young. She is also very close to Captain Ukitake (they bond during sickly times, and Ukitake is like a father-type figure to Hotaru). Ichigo, Uryu, Orihime, Chad, Yuzu, Karin, Ikkaku, Yumichika, and Izuru are some of her other close friends.
Hotaru is 5th seat in squad 13. She fights alongside her zanpakuto Aisu Tora [Ice Tiger].
*Shikai* Bite, Aisu Tora. Sends a wave of tiny, needle-like ice particles at her enemy
*Bankai* Consume the frozen flesh, Aisu Tora. Freezes anyone she stabs from the inside out, starting with the central nervous system, so they're paralyzed as they slowly turn into an icicle.
Aisu Tora looks like a regular katana with a blue and silver hilt. There is a chain going from the guard to the end of the hilt with 3 icicles dangling from it.
